YEAR 6 TRANSITION

Please find 2 links below to documents that are designed to help Year 6 children with their transition from KS2 in primary school to KS3 in secondary school.

ABOUT ME

The about me document can be completed and taken to your child’s secondary school when they start.

THE PECULIAR PEGGS OF RIDDINGS WOODS

The idea behind this is that the text is read TO the children by their families.

There are also 2 links below to You Tube videos of the author Liz Stevenson reading chapters from the book.

The discussions that should arise around vocabulary and the follow on tasks should then be completed. Each secondary school/department will then use this text as a basis for initial conversations and tasks. The hope is that even in these difficult times, the children will have some confidence with the work that they are exposed to as KS2 and KS3 have clear links.
