Healthy start vouchers
Do you have children aged under four, or are you pregnant? If so, you could be entitled to vouchers to spend on healthy food and free vitamins, and the value of the vouchers is about to go up.
Healthy Start vouchers can be used to buy fresh, frozen, or tinned fruit and vegetables, fresh, dried or tinned pulses, cow’s milk and infant formula.
From April 1 the value of the vouchers will increase from £3.10 to £4.25 per week.
Claimants need to be at least 10 weeks pregnant or have a child aged under four. They must also be in receipt of either income support, income-based jobseeker’s allowance, income-related employment and support allowance, child tax credit with a family income of £16,190 or less per year, pension credit, universal credit with no earned income or total earned income of £408 or less per month for the family.

How to apply
You can apply for Healthy Start vouchers using a paper form.
To apply for Healthy Start vouchers you should:
- Download the Healthy Start application form (PDF: 86KB) (opens in a new tab).
- Print out them form
- Complete the form
- Post the form to:
