We provide a broad range of musical activities that enable children to appreciate the dynamics of a variety of music.

Children in Year 3 are learning to play the trumpet.

Children in Key Stage 2 are able to learn to play a musical instrument through the Wider Opportunities Scheme which is delivered by Sandwell Music and Arts Service.

Children in Early Years ( Nursery and reception classes ) take part in weekly music lessons provided by an outside specialist. There is also an opportunity for a limited number of children in Reception and year 1 classes to attend a Music After School club for a cost of £1.50 per child per session. places are booked through parentpay each half term.

For a cost of £12.50 half termly children from years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to take part in small group brass lessons including taking their instrument home to practice. This enable them to progress onto taking the grade examinations on their instrument. Children taking part in these lessons are then able to take part in the wide variety of Sandwell Instrumental Groups when they reach the required standard.

We have a Key Stage 1 and a Key Stage 2 choir who rehearse once a week during lunchtime. These children then have the chance to take part in the yearly Choir Competition at Merry Hill which we successfully won in 2016 and 2017.

The choir also take part in events at West Bromwich Town Hall and performances/concerts at supermarkets and local venues as well as during assemblies in school.
