PE AT BURNT TREE PRIMARY
Burnt Tree’s Vision for Physical Education
At Burnt Tree Primary, our vision for Physical Education and Sport is that every child should have the opportunity to take part in physical activity on a regular basis and develop confidence and determination to succeed. We hope that, through a broad curriculum with a wide range of opportunities both in and out of school that children will become passionate about sport and continue to become honest, determined members of our school team.
We aim to provide the children with at least 2 hours of engaging and challenging PE lessons each week and to keep the children healthy and active every day with at least 30 minutes of physical activity. We also strive to teach the children about healthy eating, and the impact that a healthy diet and lifestyle will have on their physical and mental health.
At Burnt Tree, our goal is to give all children the chance to participate in competitions in both school and the local area. We believe that this allows children to grow in self-belief, whilst displaying high levels of respect and sportsmanship when working as a team.
On Friday 13th March, Burnt Tree celebrated Sports Relief. We wore sporty clothes, and completed a mile a day with our class. We also took part in a penalty shoot out against our class mates!
To celebrate National Football Week, Burnt Tree participated in football games! Each class got the chance to play football games, as well as complete a penalty shoot out! We learned how to shoot, pass and control a football!
