Family Support Worker

           Our school’s Family Support Worker and Designated Safeguarding Lead is Joanne Gamwell.

Joanne’s role is to support you and your children to get the best from the school by providing support, advice and information. If you are unsure where to go for help, then Joanne might be able to point you in the right direction.


You can talk to Joanne confidentially, and she will aim to support you in the following ways.

                              Provide direct and confidential support                                    

Provide impartial information about local services

Support parents/carers to understand their children’s learning and development

Help monitor school attendance with the attendance officer

Mentoring pupils for various wellbeing issues

Provide general school information

Support Nursery staff on new starter visits

Support with transition

Signpost and refer to multi-agencies

Support and guide parents/carers through the Early Help process

Advocacy for parents/carers

Supervise school council

Joanne is in school Monday-Friday and is available to speak to from 8.30am
